Here are Winc education expert Kirsten Hayward’s top five tips for making the staffroom a place of joy:

  1. Use a whiteboard. Placed in a highly visible area, a board is an ideal place for teachers to share activity ideas and success stories about what has worked well in their classrooms.
  2. Add color This is an easy way to take your staff room from absolute to awesome. Consider art prints or a birthday wall. Anything really that helps create a more visually stimulating space.
  3. Make sure you have comfortable seats. Most teachers spend most of the day on their feet, so a few comfy sofas are a must to relax during that valuable free time.
  4. Stock up on cleaning and hygiene products. Keep your staffroom fresh and bright with what you need to clean up spills and disinfect surfaces. Essential oils in automatic air fresheners are a great way to instantly transform a space.
