Geographe Catchment Inc., Western Australia.

GeoCatch is a not-for-profit organization based in the Geographe Bay Catchment, which is located 220 kilometers south-west of Perth. This group works to protect opossum habitat through education and tree planting. On June 2, 1,000 seedlings were planted, including filler canopy trees.

Rehabilitation and conservation of the fauna of Ballarat, Victoria.

Victoria’s Ballarat Wildlife Rehabilitation & Conservation (BWRC) received a grant for 400 seedlings. Together with Year Nine students from Mount Clear High School, BWRC planted native trees and shrubs on a property in Mount Egerton.

Tloperi Sanctuary Revegetation Project, South Australia.

Over the past 14 years, the Tloperi Sanctuary Revegetation Project has planted more than 80,000 seedlings on the 80-acre property, a RAMSAR listed wetland that is home to the endangered Orange-bellied Parrot and Cape Barren Goose . In July they planted another 1,000 seedlings.

South Lismore Duck Pond, Landcare NSW.

On the edge of the flood-prone Lismore Wetlands, dedicated volunteers at the South Lismore Duck Pond continued their long-standing efforts by planting a variety of sedges and sedges to help improve the health of the water. Along the edges of the wetlands, they introduced robust native species that can withstand flood conditions, contributing to the area’s resilience. In July 2024, around 450 seedlings were planted there.

Tamar Valley Steiner School.

Students at Tasmania’s Tamar Valley Steiner School have planted 300 native Tasmanian trees, shrubs and grasses. The project also provides an opportunity for students from kindergarten through 6th grade to become familiar with native plant species and the wildlife they attract.

Events supported by Planet Ark’s Seedling Bank take place throughout the year. However, ‘School Tree Day’ (July 25) and ‘National Tree Day’ (July 27) are great occasions to get involved.

Winc is partnering again with Planet Ark and Seedling Bank in 2025. Over the next 12 months, five more community groups will plant 2,300 seedlings donated by Winc.
