As Australia continues to navigate through the economic challenges and the world’s uncertainties, the impact and importance of the purchase of Australian goods is essential. Support local companies through directed contracting strategies and buy local initiatives have many advantages, including:
- reinforcing the economy,
- creating jobs and
- Supporting the local manufacturing sector.
Choosing to buy Australian products affects everyone. For consumers, it means access to high quality and locally produced goods that adhere to safety and ethical standards. For the economy, it maintains the money that circulates in Australia, supporting the local industries, suppliers and jobs.
Since 2023, Winc has carried out a research project to obtain information on the importance of buying premises for Australian organizations. During March and April 2025, we reviewed the topic to understand if and how the landscape has changed in the last 12 months.
The 2025 investigation was performed online by the Taverner Research Group from March 27 to April 17, with 31 hiring professionals who participated. The investigation of 2024 was carried out from March 11 to March 20, with 22 contracting professionals who participated and the research of 2023 was held between March 24 – April 5, 2023, with 34 participating contracting professionals.
